Greetings Loyal Readers,

My apologies for the long delay since the last post!  The month of February saw the return to action at Summer Street, as the last building code questions were answered and our general contractor began building the new stair and entry at the west end of the building – the last piece of the new construction to be added to the building’s size and shape.  We had an incredibly successful work weekend in February as well, and we are looking forward to another one next weekend.

Next steps for the contractor include finishing the framing of the new stair and entry, building the final few partition walls on the interior, and installing a new roof.  After that will come the individual trades – electrical, heat, plumbing, fire protection, insulation, etc.  Meanwhile, our parent crews will be working at the March and April work weekends to prep and install all new windows and doors, as well as continuing to work on interior finishes – floors, primarily.  Once mud season is past, we will turn some of our attention to the yard as well.

Anyone who still has not been through the new building should definitely stop in this coming weekend – even if you are not signed up with one of the work crews!  We’ll be there 9-5 Saturday and Sunday….
